Sunday Postcard Art – Open Theme

Today I have turned to a new challenge blog, Sunday Postcard Art, with their Open Theme for the week.

"Fait Main" - made by hand

This postcard was inspired by the book “Paris: Made by Hand” by the Australian Stylist Pia Jane Bijkerk, who featured in the current edition of Dumbo Feather, Pass It On. After reading about her in the mook, I stumbled upon her book while in the local library, as I was desperately looking for a good kids craft book to help survive the summer holidays. The book talks about the many and often hidden atelier, workshops / studios, around Paris, where all sorts of things are being made by hand; umbrellas, homewares, clothing, paper.

My fait main postcard includes stamps from Collections and the Boutique Grunge set from See-Ds,  stamped with Brilliance Coffee Bean and Pearlescent Beige. Image from Sumerset Studios CD 2006. Ephemera by Collections and other found objects.
