4×4 Friday – Music

Here is this week’s piece for 4×4 Friday “Music Captivates…”

Image from Karen’s Whimsy – a fantastic place for images and sketches.

I found this piece very challenging, both putting it together and photographing it but got there in the end. It’s a reminder that artwork, like lots of things in life, is 5% inspiration and 95% perspiration.

Happy Creating everyone!

MMM – Time

Time

I’m determined to be as mixed as I can with Mixed Media Monday.  With the theme of “Time” I thought about what time means to me. While on holidays, we weren’t at all worried about what time it was, so I thought the question mark was apt: “What’s the Time? Who cares, we’re on holidays!”

Stamps from Non-Sequitur and Stylish Images, alphabet from Inkadinkado, Basic Grey.  Collaged onto chipboard. Question mark from Microsoft Word.

Happy Creating,

Michelle

4×4 Friday – Texture

I have a vast collection of textured paper, so this was a great theme.

4×4 Friday – Sequin Scrap

It’s not quite Friday yet, somewhere in the world, so here is last Friday’s challenge contribution.

All the glitters is sequins

My piece of sequin scrap is about 1″ x 2″ in size and was rescued for me by my husband in the Daycare carpark after having fallen off a child’s art work. I was very excited; perhaps disproportionately so, but I had been looking for some for a while. Glad for a chance to use it here. The sequins are from a stash I’ve had a very long time and just refused to throw out. They were in a bag with some friendship pins and a poor attempt at some earrings I tried to make when I was about 14 years old.

I wanted to vary this piece from my normal image and text combination. I managed to omit the words but not the image. It is very hard to dramatically change styles when something is very comfortable. Image from TenTwo Studios

Until next week (which is already here)

Back from Beechworth

We have returned from our caravaning holiday to Beechworth, very relaxed but with no crafting done.  I did manage to pick up some lovely old theatre programmes from a Bric-a-Brac store (everything else was too expensive to cut up or alter!). Beechworth is in northern Victoria, about 3 hrs drive from Melbourne. It is an old gold mining town which dates back to the 1880’s. It is also famous for its Ned Kelly (the Bushranger) connections.

Here is our caravan, all set up in our lovely shady spot.
